Hollow Dreams

Nobles

The Court of Roses, located in the heart of London, is the seat of Sidhe power throughout Albion, if not the entire Isle of the Mighty. The Court is filled with Nobles from ambitious Squires looking to earn a Knighthood to bold Knights seeking to make a name for themselves to Dukes and Duchesses with forces which rival the Queen herself. The Court is the scene of great power and grandeur but with rank and power also comes tremendous responsibility and many ambitious Wilders get themselves in over their heads.

Queen Gwendolyn ni Gwydion

The young Queen of Roses only recently obtained her throne, after a long period of rule by Troll Chancellor Edgar Whitestone, a short period of complete disorganization and an even shorter period during which a usurper ruled. Gwendolyn is deeply committed to the Seelie Court and often seems aloof but she is known to be just to Noble and Commoner, Seelie and Unseelie alike.

Duke Gaillard ap Eiluned

Gaillard is the Duke of Crowns, ruling over the mortal lands of Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Essex from the Tower of Dawn Freehold. He surrounds himself constantly with political intrigue and is behind many of the schemes which take place in Roses. He is widely believed to desire the Crown and has an army to rival the Queen’s. Under Gaillard are Jocelyn ap Gwydion, Count of Poppies (Norfolk), Matilda ni Fiona, Countess of Heaths (Suffolk), Ernis ap Aesin, Count of Cowslips (Essex) and Selova ni Dougal, Countess of Light (Cambridgeshire). Gaillard’s lands are outside the normal area of play but he is a presence at Court.

Duke James ap Gwydion

James is the Duke of Hearts, ruling over the mortal lands of Kent, Middlesex, Surrey, Sussex and Oxfordshire. He is an older, decisive leader and his loyalty to the Queen is absolute. He is a stern but fair man and is popular with the Trolls. Under James are Galad ap Gwydion, Count of Borders (Kent), Thomas ap Gwydion, Count of Rivers (Middlesex), Abel ap Eiluned, Count of Downs (Surrey), Magdalen ni Gwydion, Countess of Martlets (Sussex) and Ebbae ni Gwydion, Countess of Isis (Oxfordshire). James’s lands are outside the normal area of play but he is a presence at Court.

Count Cedric ap Fiona

Cedric is the Count of Troia, ruling with his wife over London itself and also serving as Chancellor of Roses. He is effectively in charge as far as most characters are concerned and he rules from the Court of Roses itself. Cedric is a stubborn man and sympathizes with those normally marginalized in Kithain society although he is ultimately loyal to the Crown.

Countess Georgiana ni Liam

Georgiana is the Countess of Troia and the wife of Cedric. She is a great patron of Dreamers and is the Bard of Roses, seeing to the entertainments of the Court and passing down ancient traditions. She is a great lover of culture and beauty and is also very well connected in mortal society.

Baroness Hosanna

Hosanna, an older Boggan Grump whose Title dates back to before the Resurgence, is the ranking Commoner Noble in Roses and is a true courtier. She is known to be a member of the Catacomb Club, the political society which is insists both on the rule of the Titled Nobility and on the idea that Nobles from the Common Kith are fully equal to the Sidhe, positions which earn her enemies among Nobles and Commoners alike. Nonetheless, Hosanna is generally considered quite charming and is the Troubadour of Roses.

Dame Gerd ni Beaumayn

Gerd is a Troll Knight, member of the Crystal Circle and Seer of Roses. She is widely respected by Noble and Commoner alike and is seen as something of a power unto herself. Her Majesty has entrusted Gerd with Billy Blind’s, a Freehold set aside for the Commoners, in addition to her formal Court positions. More information on Gerd can be found on the Commoners page.
